We
have a fully equipped surgical suite. Having this suite enables
us to perform complex as well as routine surgeries.
If you are a new client, we must see your pet prior to surgery to complete a presurgical exam.
Surgical
tools And practices at Animal Health Clinic:
- Preoperative
blood profiles done in our lab before your pet is anesthetized.
- Autoclaving
(sterilization) performed on premises.
- Ability
to perform most orthopedic procedures.
- Special
lamps and magnifiers for detailed surgeries.
- Three
gas anesthesia machines that are supplied with Isoflurane
gas. Isoflurane is one of the safest gas anesthetics and
is used in both the human and animal medical fields.
- Sevoflurane
- This anesthetic is the newest anesthetic available and
offers faster recovery times and less hang-over from surgery
- A licensed
veterinary technician monitors your pet throughout the entire
anesthetic procedure.
- Complete
monitoring equipment including, Vital Signs monitor (ECG's,
blood pressure, heart rate, blood oxygen levels, and core
body temperature), intravenous fluid pumps, and pulse oximeters.
- Pre-anesthetic
drugs both to lessen anxiety and the amount of anesthesia
needed.
- Comprehensive
pain management.
- Thorough
scrub preparation of patient surgical area.
- A new
sterile instrument pack is used for every surgery.
- Aseptic
procedures, proper attire, and a separate room for aseptic
surgery.
- Heated
surgery table.
- Surgical
patients recover in heated recovery cages in our highly
monitored treatment area.
