PAUL STRIEGEL, DVM

 

Everyday is a new adventure whether at home or here at AHC. There's never 2 days alike. My wife Tami and I have an active household of 3 teenagers and 2 dogs. Joe is 18 in his first year of college, Steve is 16, a junior, and Laurel is 13, in middle school. Boomer is our 3-year-old English Pointer who will probably never grow up. His favorite extracurricular activity would be birds, and if not available then a nap on the couch. Roxie is our 6 month old Bichon/Shih tzu student who is mastering housetraining, and studying how to win Boomer's attention. We spend lots of time following activities for all 5.

While growing up in Bismarck I had dogs, cats, and horses. Biology and medicine were always interesting to me, but so was that unique bond or friendship that pets give us. This is probably what led to my interest in the animal field of medicine. It's been over 20 years since graduating from Iowa State University, but time goes fast because I always look forward to the next day at work.

It's enjoyable being at Animal Health Clinic in a hospital where high quality diagnostics, medicine, and surgery are available. Another reason is the great staff and veterinarians. Their dedication and enthusiasm are contagious, and it's a fun place to be.
